Bought these a size up (what was available - knowing I could make adjustments, but also wanted to be sure of a smooth line) and the lace-up element meant I could snug them up enough to fit as I wanted and they're smooth under trousers.
They've got a slightly-vintage vibe going on without being costume-y and disguised rather than highlighted my belly (big plus ;-)
If buying again - I'd probably buy in both sizes (true and one-up) for under different things.
And in any colours available.

Satin high waist knicker
These are so comfy but unique in the fact you can tighten them slightly on the waist, just like a corset. Never seen anything like them. The quality and finish are brilliant they honestly are the most comfortable pair that I own or have evet tried on.
